The WM526 is perhaps the fan favorite of the HM series. It featured the Parker carbonite board with stainless steel frets - as well as an original floyd and EMGs. The perfect shredding machine. Around 150 of these were made before Washburn called it quits on this model at the custom shop. The headstock was not liked by many fans, but overall the model was well received by critics and got many magazine approvals. There is a rumor that Washburn will again make the WM526s again under a 12-run custom order basis via dealers with more options. Since Washburn discontinued this model they have been fetching high resale values. Only time will tell until these hold up until the new winter NAMM models are exposed.

The WV526 is the close brother, supporting everything that WM526 has except with a flying V shaped body.

This Idol variant was also a fan favorite. In early 2010 Washburn annouced the Idol series would be discontinued, but nothing is set in stone.
